Summary
We are currently looking for a Laboratory Technologist to strengthen our team. In this position, you will be partly responsible for carrying out molecular laboratory analyses within our Genomics Unit. In this lab, in addition to DNA and/or RNA extractions, you will also perform molecular analyses. For this, we often work with the latest molecular technologies.
Responsibilities
- Performing specialized molecular analyses of varying complexity on different platforms;
- Controlling the operation of analysis equipment and reporting malfunctions;
- Monitoring lab processes and recording data in the Lab Information Management System (LIMS);
- Preparing analyses, equipment, and samples according to testing requirements;
- Documenting the laboratory work performed;
- Assisting with data interpretation.
Education
- Professional bachelor's degree in Medical, Pharmaceutical, or Biomedical Laboratory Technology, or Biochemistry.
Main Requirements
- Prior experience in a molecular laboratory is a plus;
- Able to use a computer (Word, Excel) and a database, or willing to learn;
- Flexible, communicative, and enjoys working in a team;
- Works within a quality system (ISO 15189:2012), requiring accuracy and the ability to work in a planned and documented manner;
- Able to express ideas fluently, both orally and in writing, in Dutch and English;
- Strong reporting skills for processing results;
- Flexible and enthusiastic working attitude, with decisiveness.
Working Conditions
- Full-time position, 38 hours per week, 100% onsite in our Wilrijk, Antwerp laboratory.
