Summary

Reporting to the Laboratory Group Leader, the Research Assistant will work in a team focused on the characterization of cellular and humoral immune response. The main responsibilities include the management of cell-based assays, primarily focused on flow cytometry. The Research Assistant will work closely with the Project Leaders.

Working hours : 40h/week

Responsibilities

More specifically, you will participate in the following:

  • Perform cell labeling as part of flow cytometry assays;
  • Perform other types of cellular assays in accordance with standard operating procedures (PBMC isolation, drug-stimulation, etc.);
  • Manage reagent inventories and orders;
  • Participate in writing and/or revising SOPs and worksheets;
  • Participate in the technical management of the laboratory;
  • Perform work according to internal quality standards, apply relevant quality system procedures and participate in the continuous improvement of quality documents;
  • Ensure project follow-up in close collaboration with the Project Leader (reagent ordering, documentation follow-up, etc.).

Education

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in life sciences such as biology, medical biology or biochemistry/biotechnology.

Main Requirements

  • One or two years experience in techniques related to cellular and humoral immunology is preferred;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Ability to demonstrate adaptability and flexibility in scheduling;
  • Willingness to participate actively in the creation, implementation and continuous improvement of laboratory processes;
  • Willingness to work in a Quality environment (GCP, GLP, GCLP, CLIA) and apply good documentation procedures (GDP);
  • Working knowledge of spoken and written French and written English. Knowledge of spoken English is an asset.
