Laboratory Technician II, Genomics Services

Summary
You will be partly responsible for carrying out molecular laboratory analyses within our Genomics Unit. In this lab, in addition to DNA and/or RNA extractions, you will also perform molecular analyses using the latest technologies.
Responsibilities
- Perform specialized molecular analyses of varying complexity on different platforms
- Control the operation of analysis equipment and report malfunctions
- Monitor lab processes and record data in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
- Prepare analyses, equipment, and samples according to testing requirements
- Document the laboratory work performed
- Assist with data interpretation
- Write operating procedures
- Professional bachelor's degree in Medical, Pharmaceutical, or Biomedical Laboratory Technology, or Biochemistry
- At least 4 to 5 years of relevant experience in a molecular laboratory
- Prior experience in with NGS is preferred
- Able to use a computer (Word, Excel) and a database, or willing to learn
- Flexible, communicative, and enjoys working in a team
- Works within a quality system (ISO 15189:2012), requiring accuracy and the ability to work in a planned and documented manner
- Able to express ideas fluently, both orally and in writing, in Dutch and English
- Strong reporting skills for processing results
- Flexible and enthusiastic working attitude, with decisiveness
- Mature, taking initiatives
- Facilitate process improvement and implementation
- Full-time position, 100% onsite
